I worked in the props department on The Water Diviner, directed by and starring Academy Award–winner Russell Crowe. Shot in Istanbul and Fethiye, the production brought together an outstanding Australian crew, creating a generous and inspiring working environment. I was involved in the props department from prop making through to working on set as a standby props assistant, gaining hands-on experience across all stages of the process.
It was a truly special experience working so closely with filmmakers of this caliber. Being on set alongside Russell Crowe was a once-in-a-lifetime moment, and I learned immensely throughout the production. I also had the opportunity to meet the legendary Andrew Lesnie, the Oscar-winning cinematographer of The Lord of the Rings—an encounter I’ll always remember. Working next to these legends made The Water Diviner an unforgettable and deeply formative project.
