ERAY BINTAS

ART DIRECTOR / PRODUCTION DESIGNER

I worked on the feature film Skyfall, directed by Sam Mendes, as part of the props and standby props team. Under the guidance of production designer Dennis Gassner, and within a huge international art department that included a strong local team, the project became an intense learning experience—offering firsthand insight into the scale, discipline, and precision required on a major studio production.

The film was shot across Istanbul, Adana, and Fethiye, and in Adana I took on a senior role within the art department, with major responsibility for the train sequence and the coordination of street props and local vendors. Shooting the opening sequence in Turkey—with its car chase, motorbike chase, and iconic train fight—felt like a production of its own, involving hundreds of crew members and countless moving parts. I started on the props team and later moved up to standby props, which ultimately put me on top of a moving train alongside Daniel Craig and the rest of the crew during the epic fight scene. It was a hell of a journey—demanding, exhausting, and incredibly rewarding—and I feel genuinely lucky and proud to have been part of the Skyfall crew, one of the biggest James Bond films ever made.
